When you come close, the first you can smell the characteristic stink of seafood. Cerro de CruzCerro de la Cruz (Cross Hill) is located in the National Park Altos de Campana. You can take the Tres Cruces trail to climb up from sea level to the top of the hill through the dense vegetation of the island. To find the start of road from the pier go to the left towards the center of town. Metropolitano Nature ParkThe Metropolitan Park is the only protected tropical forests in the Latin America and probably in the world located in a city. Just 15 minutes taxi ride from your hotel you can find 260 hectares of primary rainforest. Punta CulebraThe center is located at Punta Culebra in the Naos Island and is only 15 minutes from Panama City downtown. It was inaugurated in 1996 by the Smithsonian Foundation which is also its administrator. Punta Culebra Nature Center offers its visitors an open-air museum. Caño QuebradoThis natural monument is located only one hour and 30 minutes from the capital. Herein the river Caimito creates a beautiful waterfall height about 30 meters. When the river reaches the step its current is divided into two parts by a huge rock. Quebrada Bonita WaterfallDo you think that there is a place where you can spend a day in nature, surrounded by thick tropical rain forest just few kilometers from Panama City? Yes you can, and this beautiful place is waterfall Quebrada Bonita which is located within the Chagres National Park.
